Day 1: Johannesburg - Madikwe Game Reserve

This morning there will be a light aircraft flight from Johannesburg to the Madikwe airstrip. Upon arrival you will be met and then transferred in a 4x4 vehicle to the Madikwe lodge. You’ll be able to spot game along the way. At the lodge you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing drink, check-in and then be shown around the lodge and its facilities, after which lunch will be served.

Honeymooners can then retreat to their suite and enjoy a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. For the wedding couple, a meeting with the wedding co-ordinator will take place to discuss the ceremony details. The evening game drive departs after tea and you can enjoy sundowners at a scenic spot in the reserve. When you return there will be a romantic bubble bath with candles and flowers arranged for you, as well as an intimate in-suite dinner.

Day 2: Madikwe Game Reserve

Your day starts with an exciting early morning Big Five game drive. There will be a stop along the way for refreshments and snacks before you return to the lodge for breakfast. Couples can then enjoy a complimentary spa treatment or spend time around the pool, browse the curio shop and relax in the library, before lunch and the afternoon game drive. Dinner will be a romantic affair in a setting of your choice.

For wedding couples, this day is set aside for the ceremony, which will be organised according to prior arrangements. The ceremony would be set up in the early morning, at midday or in the late afternoon, perhaps in a bush setting or whatever is your preference.

Day 3: Madikwe Game Reserve

You can truly relax after the organisation and planning of your wedding day, whether you set off on morning and evening game drives with relaxation in between, or take time out just to soak up the atmosphere; the choice is yours for the ultimate African honeymoon. Your absolute enjoyment is the top priority at this luxury game lodge where fine dining and every creature comfort are provided.

Madikwe Game Reserve is home to Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard as well as a wealth of other fascinating creatures, including the rare Wild Dog. When not out on game drives or guided bush walks, you can view game from the privacy of your suite deck or from the main deck which overlooks an active waterhole.

Day 4: Madikwe Game Reserve - Johannesburg

This is the final day of your Wedding or Honeymoon Romance Package. There will one last game drive followed by breakfast before you check-out and catch a road transfer back to the Madikwe airstrip for your return flight to Johannesburg.
