Madikwe Game Reserve is situated in the North West Province of South Africa. Guests can choose to drive from Johannesburg or arrive by charter plane. The drive will take about 4 hours.
Directions from Johannesburg
From the airport, take the R24 and continue where it joins the N3. Follow the Pretoria signs but remain on the highway. You should not turn onto the N1 to Pretoria. Follow the N1 South Roodepoort Western Bypass and head south. Take the M8 off-ramp signposted '14th Avenue'. You should then follow the M47/N14 signs.
Where the N14 and the R24 intersects at a 4-way stop at Tarlton, turn right and take the R24 signposted 'Rustenburg' which goes to Magaliesburg. En route to Magaliesburg, fork left and take the R509 signposted 'Derby/Koster' and follow the R509 all the way to Swartruggens. To reach the R509, turn right in Koster. The signpost 'R509 Swartruggens' is on the right hand side of the road in the middle of Koster. At the T-junction before Swartruggens, turn left onto the N4 for Swartruggens and Zeerust.
When you arrive in Zeerust, turn right at the third stop street into President Street and dollow the signpost 'R47 Gabarone / Madikwe Game Reserve. Follow the R49 north towards Gabarone. Turn right at into Madikwe Game Reserve at the Abjaterskop Gate.
