Getting to Madikwe River Lodge
Directions from OR Tambo International Airport
From OR Tambo International Airport, follow the R21 north to Pretoria (Tshwane) through Kempton Park. After about 40km (24.85 miles), follow the N1 north to Pretoria / Polokwane. Continue along the N1 and take the N4 west into Pretoria towards Rustenburg / Hartebeespoort Dam.
Follow the N4 through Pretoria to Hartebeespoort Dam. From Hartebeespoort Dam, follow the N4 to Rustenburg for about 30km (18.64 miles). Take the R556 towards Sun City Resort. Pass the Sun City Resort entrance situated on your right and the Sun Village garage and shopping centre.
About 5km (3.10 miles) from the Sun Village, turn right at the T-junction towards Derdepoort. Turn right towards Baping about 10 km (6.21 miles) further. Continue along this road for about 40km (24.84 miles). Do not turn off at the Mdikwe Hospital sign.
The road will become a dirt road. Turn right towards the Derdepoort Gate. Once you've arrived inside the Madikwe Game Reserve, follow the signs to Madikwe River Lodge. The Madikwe River Lodge is situated 7km (4.34 miles) from the Derdepoort Gate.
Directions from Pretoria
From Pretoria, take the N4 west towards Rustenburg / Hartebeespoort Dam. Continue on the N4 towards Swartruggens. Travel straight through Swartruggens on the N4 to Zeerust. Drive into Zeerust and turn right onto the R47 / R49 to Gabarone / Madikwe Game Reserve Gate.
Travel through the gate into the Madikwe Game Reserve. Follow the Derdepoort Gate signs for about 35km (21.74 miles). Turn right at the Madikwe River Lodge sign and drive about 3km (6 miles) to Madikwe River Lodge.
