This romantic holiday package provides the opportunity to see amazing African wildlife up close. Experienced game rangers and trackers take you on game drives and guided walking safaris in a land rich with ecological and cultural history. Madikwe Game Reserve is located along the border with Botswana and is home to Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard as well as Cheetah and Wild Dog.
In between game viewing activities you can enjoy wholesome and sumptuous meals which are inspired by the textures and flavours of the African bush. An impressive collection of both esteemed local and rare French wines and champagnes can be found in the wine cellar. A health therapist is on hand to offer a range of full body relaxation therapies and there is also a Jacuzzi and gym available.
Day 1: Johannesburg - Madikwe Game Reserve
There will be a Meet and Greet service at O.R. Tambo International Airport before your light aircraft flight to the Madikwe Game Reserve. You will be welcomed at the airstrip and then taken on a 4x4 road transfer to the lodge with game viewing along the way. After check-in and depending on your time of arrival, lunch will be available.
The afternoon is yours to explore the lodge facilities before the evening game drive which departs after tea. There will be a stop for sundowners followed by nocturnal wildlife viewing with the aid of a spotlight, on the way back to your game reserve accommodation for dinner.
Day 2: Madikwe Game Reserve
Each day at this game lodge in Madikwe begins with an early morning game drive with refreshments en route and then breakfast back at camp, and ends with a sunset game drive and sundowners. The time in between is yours to rest and relax, sipping cocktails together on your special holiday. Guided bush walks are also offered, and you will certainly get quite a different perspective on your surroundings.
You could also spend time in your private pool, have a siesta or explore the lodge facilities. There is a beautiful art gallery and curio shop to visit or you can savour a chilled Chardonnay in the library. Enjoy a wellness treatment or simply find a good spot on the main deck and keep a look out for game at the waterhole.
Dining outdoors under starry African skies is a delight and you will be able to experience this at your South African lodge.
